Inside, a flowered and tree-lined cloister offers a real haven of peace. It is a Chief masterpiece of the city's best gardeners, which changes face with the seasons, offering an ever-renewed spectacle. About twenty spacious rooms, places for commercial negotiations and confidential meetings, overlook this cloister.

The Deferential Council holds its meetings there, gathering the members of the Ten Families. They are received in audience several times a year by the God-King, to present their requests concerning the life of the city.
