Turcott's
Located in the heart of the Fountains district, in The Lakeshoe Terrace, there is a modest but warm building, known as “Turcott's”. This popular canteen, nestled in Temple Street, is a true refuge for the most destitute inhabitants of Laelith.
The exterior of Turcott's is unassuming with its sign faded by time and weather. However, once the door is crossed, one discovers a friendly place, filled with human warmth and the enticing smell of fish soup. The decoration is simple, almost bare, but the atmosphere is comforting. The wooden tables worn by time and the benches filled with customers testify to the incessant activity of this place.
The canteen is run by the placid and good-natured Turcotte, a big-hearted woman who, despite difficulties, always manages to offer a thick and tasty soup to the most needy. Her establishment is partly subsidized by the Temple of the Silver Fish, which allows her to feed many beggars every day.
Opposite Turcott's, an old warehouse has been transformed into a dormitory, named “The Straw Mats”, offering shelter to the most destitute for a nominal sum. Together, these two establishments form a true haven of solidarity and mutual aid within the bustling city of Laelith.
