The Destitution Gardens

Nobody wishes to visit the Destitution Gardens, including their unfortunate inhabitants. However, if a stay in Laelith - like in any metropolis - is not always without danger, it is perhaps in the Gardens that you will be the safest. The “Gardeners” (this is the nickname the inhabitants give themselves, in self-mockery) will only threaten your life or physical integrity if you prove to be really unpleasant - for example, by violently resisting a perfectly natural attempt to relieve you of your purse.

On the other hand, in case someone with ill intentions has put a price on your head, the inhabitants of the neighborhood will do what is necessary to prevent an assassin from outside from attacking you. Alas, business is business: if it is a “Gardener” to whom your enemy has proposed a contract, you will need to be wary - but this is rare, and you will understand anyway that there is nothing Personal about it.

However, business or not, the friendship of a “Gardener” is precious: it is all he has to offer you, but if you have this privilege, you can count on him, regardless of the amount of a potential contract…
