Rosary Makers Brotherhood
In the heart of the Four Merchants district, in the terrace of the Hand that Crafts, stands a building with a unique charm: the Rosary Makers Brotherhood. This building, emblematic of the craftsmanship of Laelith, is a true haven of peace and devotion.
The facade of the Brotherhood is adorned with delicate motifs, depicting intertwined rosaries, carved in stone. Inside, the atmosphere is imbued with serenity and fervor. The walls are covered with rosaries of all kinds, from the simplest, made of bone, horn, or olive wood, to the most precious, woven with gold threads and adorned with enamel, mother-of-pearl, or amber. The makers have taken care to separate the rosaries of the four great temples – while all seem to appreciate these small objects of worship, it would not be wise, for example, to mix a rosary of Drops of the Silver Fish with a rosary of Sparks of the Fire Bird.
The Brotherhood is constantly buzzing with activity. Masters, companions, and apprentices tirelessly work, lovingly and devotedly crafting each bead of each rosary. Their work is a true prayer in action, a tribute to the spirituality that permeates every corner of Laelith. Moreover, many of the artisans at work recite prayers to accompany their precise gestures – it is astonishing to note that they do not seem to hear the psalmodies of their neighbors.
The Rosary Makers Brotherhood is a place of life, work, and faith. It is a symbol of the devotion and craftsmanship that make the Hand That Crafts renowned, and an essential visit for any pilgrim passing through Laelith.
