The Clay Guardhouse is an imposing military building located in the military quarters of The Four Merchants, on The Terrace of the Hand That Crafts in Laelith. It is a robust structure, built from local stone and reinforced with clay, hence its name. The guardhouse is the vigilant guardian of this prosperous district, ensuring the safety of the artisans and merchants who work and live there.

Inside, the organization of the post is similar to that of the Pearl, the main guardhouse of the Mist. The ground floor is divided into several areas: the reception room, the Duty Room, the kitchen, and the guard room. The on-duty guards are always there, ready to intervene when needed.

The upper floors house the Armory, the provisions room, the collectors' office, and the weapons room where the guards train. A medical facility and a “luxury” jail are also present for emergency situations.

The Clay Guardhouse is also equipped with a sophisticated alarm system, including a Semaphore and a balloon release, to signal any imminent threat. Despite its location in a prosperous district, the post is not exempt from dangers. Prosperous merchants often attract unsavory characters, which requires constant vigilance from the guards.
