The Silver Goat
In the heart of the the Terrace of the Hand That Crafts, in the bustling district of the Kingdoms, stands proudly “The Silver Goat”. This restaurant is very popular among the artisans and merchants of the area. Its typical Laelith architecture, combining raw stone and carved wood, gives it an authentic charm, as does its painted sign: a coat of arms depicting a white goat with yellow horns on a red background.
Inside, the atmosphere is most convivial. Under wrought iron lights, each table accommodate six or eight guests seated on wide benches. The walls are adorned with colorful frescoes depicting scenes of daily life in Laelith.
The Silver Goat is renowned for its generous table. The dishes are not the most refined, but always tasty and hearty. The artisans of the district come to enjoy a solid meal after a long day of work, while the merchants take advantage of the terrace to discuss business over a beer and a platter of charcuterie and cheese. Often, the owner mingles with the customers. This big blond and bearded fellow always has a joke ready, and everyone calls him “Mister Shepherd”, or simply “Shepherd” for the older patrons, who feel at home in this establishment, a symbol of the joyful prosperity of the the Terrace of the Hand That Crafts.
It should be noted that the prices are very reasonable. The regulars like to compare “the Goat”, as they call it, to “the Hand”, as they refer to the famous restaurant The Ringing Hand. A comparison always in favor of “the Goat”, of course. The only common point between the two seems to be that both owners led quite mysterious lives before venturing into the restaurant business. Some claim that Shepherd is a defrocked priest of the Firebird and that the owner of The Ringing Hand was a hierarch of the Silver Fish… Who knows?
