Crooked Roof House
The Crooked Roof House is an iconic building located in the Kingdoms district, on The Terrace of the Hand That Crafts, within the majestic city of Laelith. Imposing and robust, this building stands out for its unique architecture, a legacy of its past as part of an ancient city wall. Its massive walls, pierced by a few rare windows, testify to the solidity and resilience of this construction that has survived several disasters, including a violent fire.
The most remarkable aspect of the Crooked Roof House is undoubtedly its roof, built in a somewhat disordered manner, thus giving it its name. Despite this apparent imperfection, the building exudes an aura of charm and mystery that attracts the attention of passersby.
The Crooked Roof House houses the High Guild Headquarters, a sovereign entity whose power is recognized by all the inhabitants of Laelith. From there, the Guild dominates the commercial activities of the district, overseeing the square and adjacent streets with undisputed authority. For many, this building deserves to be respected on par with the four Temples of the city, thus testifying to the importance of the High Guild in Laelithian society.
In short, the Crooked Roof House is more than just a building: it is a symbol of resilience and power, a Pillar of the economy of Laelith and a witness to its history.
