High Gate (Vestiges)
The remnants of the Haute Porte, located on The High Terrace, are a poignant testament to the grand past of Laelith. Once, this imposing gate served as the main entrance to the God-King Palace. Today, it is nothing more than a ruin, a shadow of its past splendor, but it retains an aura of mystery and majesty.
The Haute Porte stands proudly at the top of the city, dominating the landscape with its broken forms. Its walls, once smooth and adorned with mosaics, are now eroded by time and weather, but traces of frescoes and sculptures that once adorned its facades can still be distinguished. The twin towers that flanked the gate have been reduced to stumps, but they still offer a breathtaking view of the city below.
Despite its state of disrepair, the Haute Porte remains a place of fascination for the inhabitants of Laelith and visitors. Its history is rich in events and intrigues, and many wonder what could have caused its fall. Some claim it was the result of an epic battle, others suggest a natural disaster, but the truth remains a mystery.
The Haute Porte is a powerful reminder of the past grandeur of Laelith, and a symbol of the fragility of all things. It is a place of Contemplation and reflection, a place where one can lose oneself in the echoes of the past while admiring the beauty of the city that stretches out below.
