The Prosperity
The Prosperity terrace is a strange melting pot where enterprising shopkeepers, masters of plunder and emissaries from neighboring provinces make up an improbable broth, ready to overflow at any time. This frenetic and colorful district is the commercial center of Laelith. This is where all the merchants and caravanners who come to the Holy city on business inevitably end up.
Its alleys are infested with beggars and purse cutters, but their ardor is nothing compared to the dedication of the tax collectors who insist on levying the God-King's dues on all commercial transactions concluded within the city's confines.
The Prosperity is of vital importance to Laelith's economy. However, despite numerous guard patrols, it struggles to maintain order within the cosmopolitan society that frequents it.
The following selection of places illustrates the cohabitation of these three thriving activites in the Prosperity terrace. The Great Divine-Royal Theater, the Divine-Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Great Emporium are famous throughout Laelith and beyond. The other places are less known, but prone to attract the eye - and purse - of the passers-by.
