The Inky Guardhouse, located in The Reconquest district on The Terrace of the Punishment, is an imposing military building nestled in the heart of the Ladder in the Sky. It is here that the office of the Ezmer, the highest-ranking guard of the entire Terrace, is now situated. It is a comfortable room where important decisions are made. It is here that patrol schedules are established and instructions for task distribution are prepared. The Ezmer also receives important people, such as Sancillo Korazy, or snoopers in this office.

The post is a massive structure. Inside, there is a reception room, a Duty Room for taxes, a kitchen for the guards, an armory for training, and an infirmary for the injured. The post is also equipped with a luxury cell for high-profile prisoners that The Wet Whistle might attract, and a modern alarm system to call for reinforcements if needed.

The Contingent is made up of two distinct types of guards. For a very long time, the appointment to the Inky Guardhouse was a disciplinary sanction. Its men barricaded themselves there all night, from closing time to opening time. Today, several platoons of Zealots, heavily armed, have established themselves there, inflamed by The Discourse of Nin I and viewing the former guards as cowards and people without honor. They are ready to lead a true crusade in The Punishment at the slightest signal from the God-King. The old animosity that marred relations between the Inky Guardhouse and the Coal Guardhouse posts is finally taking a break, and, enduring all the mockery, the elders of the Terrace patiently await for The Punishment to put the newcomers in their place.
