The Inlam

The Inlam originates in the east from Lake Altalith, flows deep into the Fault that divides the City in two along its entire length, and ends its frenzied course in the west with a great cascade that plunges into the gorge off the Cliffs of Vorn. The gradient of the torrent is low, but its banks rise increasingly rapidly, reaching a height of 900 meters at the end of the High Terrace. Its water level varies depending on the rainfall and the melting of snow covering the surrounding mou…

The Hairs of the Goddess waterfall

The Hairs of the Goddess waterfall marks the tumultuous journey of the Inlam as it majestically plunges into the Cliffs of Vorn. Its name comes from the offerings thrown into the torrent - jewelry, coins, and trinkets - which remain stuck in the crevices of the rocks, making it sparkle with a thousand glimmers in the setting sun. The dwarf settlement, located below the falls, has dug numerous galleries into the cliff, sometimes close to where the most beautifu…

Vorn's Cliff

This immense cliff, over 1400 meters high, is the eastern part of the geological Great Fault that borders the entire west side of Laelith.

The narrow and steep mountain path that winds along it has, on one end, a wealthy Dwarven Colony at the bottom of the gorge, and on the other end, at the top of the wall, the Camp of the Long Forbearance which leads to the Gate of the Delightful Ecstasy and therefore to the essential Lazaret.

Camp of the Long Forbearance

The Camp of the Long Forbearance, also known as Camp Uhain Highseer, is a temporary shelter for newcomers to Laelith. Located at the top of Vorn's Cliff, it offers a breathtaking view of the cosmopolitan city. The camp is marked by two majestic statues of winged lions guarding the entrance, symbolizing protection and welcome.

The Mages Peaks

The Mages Peaks are a place separated from the rest of the city and owe their name to the three large extinct volcanoes that dominate the plateau.

The first is the Tower Minor, the seat of the Tolerated Academy of Magic. A huge porch, topped with a human skull over ten meters high, opens onto the School of Magic. It welcomes apprentices who benefit from the teachings of high-level mages residing in the rich houses of the heights of the Peak. No opening is distinguished on the s…

The Blackened Houses

Located near Utruz Village in the southeast of the City, this former neighborhood outside the walls is now devastated and practically emptied of its inhabitants. It was so often attacked in the past during the wild incursions of southern tribes that the walls of the houses remain stained with the soot from the fires that ravaged them.

Formerly located near the Lazaret, the caravanserai is now situated outside the city walls, to the north of the barracks of the Corps of Protectors of the Holy City. It is a building with multiple functions: a stopover for caravaners traveling along the road that serves the northern shore of Lake Altalith; a place for the care of riding and pack animals; Warehouses for temporary or medium-term storage; an inn for travelers with dorms and individual rooms; a place for registering in…

The Utruz Village

This community, located southeast of the Holy City near the shores of the Blackened Houses, barely welcomes the semi-aquatic people of the Utruz huddling in a few hundred huts. Its inhabitants live miserably from fishing, shellfish farming, and crafting with dried seaweed. They rarely leave this lakeside village, except to fish or sell what they produce in the Holy City without lingering.
