Sanctuary of the Divine

The Sanctuary of the Divine is a sacred and historical place located in the Palace Gardens on The High Terrace of Laelith. Formerly a Temple of the Elders, this funerary complex has been redesigned to accommodate the deceased God-Kings. Its location on the heights of the city gives it a panoramic view of Laelith, adding to its aura of majesty.

The Sanctuary is surrounded by high fences, guarded by purple guards, protecting the eternal rest of the rulers. However, this sacred place is also a place of debauchery for some poets who come to recite their verses, drink wine, and spend the night on the graves.

Inside the Sanctuary, there is a crypt under the old Temple of the complex where the bodies of the God-Kings are laid. With space becoming increasingly scarce, a simple memorial plaque is now placed in a garden, unofficially called “the Graveyard Without Bodies”, to commemorate the rulers.

The Sanctuary of the Divine is a place imbued with mystery and respect, where the sacred and the profane, life and death, mingle. It is a silent witness to the history of Laelith and its God-Kings.
