Fevers Tree Encampment
The Fevers Tree Encampment is a village of waxed canvas and rickety planks in the heart of the Terrace of Punishments. Erected in the shadow of the ruins of the Temple of the Elders, this motley collection of huts and tents constantly seems at the mercy of the whims of the wind and weather.
In this dreary and gray landscape, the encampment appears as an island of life, a refuge for the lost souls of the Terrace. Here, lost drunks, penitent sisters dedicated to welcoming the destitute, repentant swordsmen clumsily attempting to play the role of paladins to earn their redemption, and frightened worshippers of ancient idols mingle in an atmosphere of despair and mingled hope.
The Fevers Tree Encampment takes its name from the gigantic tree that stands at its center, a relic of the past whose scarlet branches seem to reach towards the sky as if imploring divine protection. Between its roots, everything is exchanged and negotiated, even the darkest markets and the crudest scams. The people of Punishment come to nail their prayers to its bark and attempt to forge pacts with the powers that be.
Despite its precarious appearance and cursed location, the Fevers Tree Encampment is a place of intense life, a microcosm where the most destitute and desperate coexist, but also those who seek redemption or meaning in their existence.
