Inlam
The Inlam stream originates in the east from the Lake Altalith, flows deep into The Fault dividing the city in two along its entire length, and ends its frantic course in the west with a Great Cascade that plunges into the gorges of the Cliffs of Vorn. The slope of the torrent is low but its banks rise more and more rapidly, reaching 900 meters high at the end of The High Terrace. Its water level varies depending on the rains and the melting of the snow that covers the surrounding mountains, but also due to some more mysterious circumstances. Five bridges overlook it, which are as many bottlenecks constraining the circulation of goods and inhabitants. The Inlam is a major place for the city's spirituality because even though it has long served as an open-air sewer and a place for ritual burials, the Great Dryness, when decided by the God-King, gives it a new youth. Similarly, the Toracles, a special caste of seers who read the future in the convolutions of the torrent, have now gained a good reputation thanks to their predictions.
